Itadakimasu! in Banawe | Oedo Japanese Restaurant

By: Ace Alabanza

Another Japanese cuisine with an extraordinary twist of the place. Oedo Japanese Restaurant welcomes you with their native ambiance and authentic taste of their food. Located at one of the famous food streets in the Metro in Banawe, where a lot of hidden food spots are situated.

Oedo greets you with a traditional set as you enter their restaurant. You have an option if you would want to dine inside or outside the vicinity of the restaurant. Both indoor and outdoor have traditional Japanese culture touch.

"Sobrang saya kasi napaka-peaceful 'nung place. Atsaka ang ganda ng environment talaga para kang dinadala sa Japan talaga. Perfect siya sa date and sa other occasions. (It's fun because the place is so peaceful and the environment is beautiful. It feels like you're really in Japan. It's perfect for a date or any other occasions)," Lance Agcaoili, writer at Business Mirror said.

Their food has a various selection of Japanese dishes. They offer the best Yakiniku, Tepanyaki, Yakitori, Sushu, Ramen, Udon, Sashimi, Tempura, Agemono, Donburi, Curry, Yakimono, Kushiyaki, Soup, Salads, and Gohan - a complete set where you can choose what you want to eat at a reasonable price. The food prices ranges from P300- P2000. It's good if you're going for a date or for a family gathering because they serve a lot in a plate.

Me and my friend ordered Asari Butter Yaki (clams in butter sauce) for P190, Mixed Yakitori (assorted meats, 8pcs.) for P350, Mixed Tempura (assorted variants with ebi tempura) for P320 and 2 Gohan (plain rice) for P110, inclusive of tea drinks. It costed us almost P1000. Our stay and the food was worth our penny. You'll really savor the food because it was like seemingly home-cooked. A great service from their staff is also a huge plus.

Recently, they built a mini grocery at Oedo where you may find and buy products that came from Japan.

Meanwhile, you may visit them at 105 Sto. Domingo Street corner Sct D.M. Alcaraz, Sto. Domingo Ave, Quezon City, Metro Manila. If you're going on commute, you may drop by at Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon Avenue and ride a tricycle from there to Oedo Japanese Restaurant. Opening hours are at 11 AM to 2:30 PM, and 6 PM to 11 PM.
